Most breeds of cats like to climb high or sit in high positions. Animal behavior researchers have come up with a number of explanations for this, most commonly, “the altitude gives the cat a better point of view. From that position, they can monitor their kingdom and know all activities of humans as well as other animals. In the wild, an elevated position is also used as a hiding place for hunting. ” Therefore, height can also give a cat a sense of security and prestige.
